twitter_badgeThis morning I spent the better part of an hour combing over the Twitter Apps on the Twitter Fan Wiki site. (You’ve heard of Twitter but aren’t really sure what it is? Here’s a nice introduction to Twitter by @kenleyneufeld or if you’re sick of reading, watch this video: Twitter in Plain English.) Anyways. I thought I’d share a few apps that I found particularly interesting or useful.

Friend Or Follow helps you manage your Twitter contacts. Submit your Twitter screen name to find out who you’re following that’s not following you back, and who’s following you that you’re not following back.

How good am I?

Follow Cost
Provides stats on how frequently a Twitterer makes updates. Includes stats on @ frequency and political tweet frequency.

Twitter Score
Ranks your Twitter profile based on different stats from your Twitter page. Another clever thing that TwitterScore does is to remember your profile and see how you compare against previous months to show you whether you’ve improved or got worse!

Visualizes twitter’s social graph as a graph. See who’s following who. Auto-group, automated groupping of users in social graph.

Tweet Cloud
This Tweet Cloud shows you the major words found in the most recent tweets of all users or those of a specific user. This changes by the minute! Experiment with the composition of tweets to reveal interesting trends, connections, attitudes, relationships. For example searching on lunch often shows what people are planning to eat.

Twerms analyzes a users last 200 tweets by utilizing the Yahoo! Term Extraction Web Service. (Hint: Replace the last part of the URL with your Twitter ID and then load the page.)
